Redemption CCG Banned Cards:

Banned cards are placed in order from the set they came out in starting with the Limited/Unlimited cards. With over 20 sets of Redemption CCG cards from 1995-current and only a handful of banned cards you can see that a card is only deemed ban worthy if it implements serious game play issues or creates an unfair advantage. All cards if pulled in sealed or booster draft are played as meek. Thanks to Chris and Justin for help compiling this information!

NOTE: As of 11/17/2025 you are able to still send in your Mourn and Weep card for a replacement Foolish Shepard. If you would like a replacement card you may mail your copy to Cactus along with a postage paid return envelop and they will replace them card for card.

Lost Souls (Limited/Unlimited - Banned April 19th, 2018) - This lost soul was banned due to it creating a bad game play loop. The first card to ever get banned in the game. Back in the day you could give them half and play cards like Death of Unrighteousness to shuffle it back into deck or let them rescue and play Falling Away. It created an un fun play experience. This card has been reprinted with a completely different ability.

Samuel (Rock of Ages Tin 23 - Banned December 1, 2019) - This Samuel was deemed the lynchpin card in the Throne of David decks that dominated the meta for years. The Angel Under the Oak to draw 2 to Samuel to draw 2 to play and band to King Saul to draw 1 who could band to David or Abigail to play Throne or draw more. It was such a powerful opening sequence that it was decided something had to be banned. Since the game had a new version of Samuel at this point, they decided to ban this card.

Ephesian Widow (The Persecuted Church - Banned August 26, 2022) - It took a while for Ephesian Widow to become playable, but once Gospels of Christ expansion came out you could use Life in the Son with Ephesian Widow to draw the entire deck in one turn. It was banned before the 4 activation's per turn rule, but would have still been able to draw 12 cards in 1 turn even with that rule.

The Foretelling Angel (The Persecuted Church - Banned August 4, 2025) - Foretelling Angel was banned due to the influx of strong Daniel cards in the Times To Come set. Even with the 4 activation's per turn rule, it was too fast in play testing and had to be banned.

Daniel (Cloud of Witnesses - Banned August 26, 2022) - This version of Daniel was banned right before the release of the K/L starter decks because the Son of God in it was a Daniel reference and you could shuffle it back inside your deck. Obviously recurring Son of God more than once is too powerful.

Mourn and Weep (Prophecies of Christ - Banned December 1, 2019) - Mourn and Weep ended up being too good as it wasn't difficult to play in battle. It also allowed for the player going first to play it in their last discard phase to eliminate the 2nd players final battle phase. It also was pretty brutal in Teams. It also has an ongoing trade-in program where you can send your old version in for a Foolish Shepard card. This card took over set number 216 for the Prophecies of Christ set.

JustinIt was also pretty dumb in Teams to skip 3 player's battle phases
